In 1994, B.Smith’s Restaurant took over the vacant President Suite at Union Station and has flourished ever since. The suite remains a dramatic, high vaulted space with classical molding, ornamental plaster relief and gold leaf enrichment. There are elaborate silver stencil designs and many replicas of the presidential eagle. Barbara Smith’s exceptional style and grace is apparent in every aspect of her Union Station restaurant. The space that houses B.Smith’s Restaurant could not be more fitting for your wedding day – it is grand yet comfortable, elegant but warm.
B. Smith’s Grand Dining Room is their largest and most elegant space. The room is a registered landmark originally used for entertaining and presidential functions. Its thirty-foot high ceilings and original grand chandeliers offer a picturesque backdrop for your ideal wedding day. Originally used as a breezeway between dressing rooms and the Presidential Private Train Terminal, the Colonnade is B. Smith’s outdoor terrace space and seats up to 70 people. Perfect for cocktail hour, we place our wireless Bose speakers along their beautiful marble walls to achieve a low, balanced music level throughout the space.
Recognized for its outstanding service and Southern cuisine, B.Smith’s Restaurant has brought a new taste and sensibility to Washington, DC. Having provided music services for several bespoke wedding receptions at B. Smith’s, Bryan and his team of talented associates are proud to be a part of the continuing history of Union Station.
