Fiola – Sunday, September 22, 2013
Michael and David were married atop Fiola in Washington, DC on a beautiful day in the Fall of 2013. Overlooking the Capitol, Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg served as the officiant for their wedding ceremony. Having never been asked to officiate a same-sex wedding before, Justice Ginsburg accepted their request! After the ceremony, guests and the newly-wed couple were escorted downstairs into the restaurant, where they wined and dined before dancetime!
We’re so happy for them! Enjoy the amazing photos below, taken by Deb Lindsey Photography.
David is a Food & Dining columnist for The Washington Post – which explains choosing Fiola as their venue – considering how highly acclaimed it is. The décor inside Fiola makes you feel like you are dining al fresco at a café in Tuscany. It created such a romantic and unique ambiance for the reception! It was so fun to see the couple and guests celebrate the special night on the dance floor! They requested a lot of 80’s and we delivered! Michael and David’s story can be found on the Real Weddings blog of Washingtonian Bride & Groom, as well as on The Huffington Post and the New York Times’ Vows column.
Michael & David shared their first dance as a married couple to Where Is My Man? by Eartha Kitt.
